LIBRARY AUTOMATED SYSTEM
Ateneo de Manila University developed a system in person of Mr. Gerry Larosa, Head of the Computer and Audio Visual Services. INFOLIB is a free integrated library system with a growing user community. It is designed to provide library and information management solutions for small libraries and other non-profit entities with ten thousand or less records. Equipped with its basic modules:
Cataloging, CatalogingAV, Circulation, Periodical Articles Index, OPAC, Reports, Web OPAC, Archive Manager
It provides much of the functionality of traditional online catalogs. Each module can be added o rdeleted and is relatively easy to configure and use even with little or no training. The modules will function efficiently and will work in an integrated fashion since encoding of record is done only once and all modules have access to the same database. (http://infolib.alaehweb.com/)
Thru the joint efforts of the Librarians Association of Quezon Province-Lucena Inc. (LaQuePLInc) and Ateneo de Manila University, INFOLIB System was distributed all over the Quezon Province for small libraries but most specially to public libraries who are not capable of purchasing a commercial library software. Now, LCL is successfully using this automated system.
